Within the Chinese market, organic products can be marketed as such only when they fulfill the requirements laid down in GB/T19630-2019. The standard has been initially published in 2005 by the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China (SAC), and has later undergone some reviews. The latest version in effect was published on 30th August 2019. The standard consists of four different sections setting out, respectively, the rules for the production, processing, labeling and management system of organic products and certified facilities. The scope of the standard covers crops, mushrooms, wild plants, livestock and poultry, aquaculture products, textile products and their unprocessed products among others.
